Explore the underground and catacombs of Rome on a private guided tour with transportation included!
You'll be picked up directly from your hotel in Rome's historic center (if located inside the Aurelian Walls).
Accompanied by your private guide, you'll begin your discovery on the Via Appia, one of the oldest roads in the Roman Empire, once used by merchants, soldiers and travelers on their way to the East. This emblematic route will plunge you into the ancient history of the Eternal City.
You'll continue your visit with the Christian catacombs, underground burial places dug right into the rock. You'll explore these labyrinthine galleries steeped in history, where Rome's first Christians are laid to rest. Your guide will explain their historical and religious significance.
At the end of the tour, you'll have a choice of two of Rome's iconic basilicas. You'll visit either the Basilica of St. John Lateran, the first church built in Rome and former papal residence, or the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the largest church dedicated to the Virgin Mary in the Italian capital.
At the end of the tour, you'll be escorted back to your hotel.
