Discover the art of origami and create stunning pieces using traditional Japanese techniques!
Origami is the ancestral Japanese art of paper folding, and allows you to create various objects using one or more sheets: animals, flowers, clothes, etc. Origami has been practised since the Edo period and involves learning a range of folding techniques to achieve an elegant, representative result.
In this workshop, you'll learn the different types of folding, from basic to advanced, under the supervision of an English-speaking origami teacher. They'll help you master Japanese folding according to the rules of the art: with a square sheet and without cutting it or using glue.
During the origami class, you'll make: a cardholder, a full-size Japanese helmet (worn by samurai during battles), a chopstick holder, a box, a boat and cranes. You'll use Japanese washi origami paper and can choose from a wide range of colours and designs.
At the end of the class you can take your creations away with you.
