Discover the history of the Victoria Falls Bridge on an immersive guided tour from Victoria Falls!
You will make your own way to the Victoria Falls Bridge, where you will meet your guide 30 minutes before the start of the tour. After a safety briefing, you will be equipped with a harness and the necessary gear to begin the activity.
You will start by learning about the history of the bridge, built between 1904 and 1905. Your guide will explain the different stages of its construction, from its fabrication in England to its assembly in Africa.
You will then continue with a guided visit of the visitor centre before accessing the lower sections of the bridge. You will move beneath the structure to observe this engineering masterpiece up close, while enjoying views of the Zambezi River and the Batoka Gorge.
Throughout the tour, your guide will share stories about the construction of the bridge and the Cape to Cairo railway project envisioned by Cecil Rhodes. You will also discover the technical and historical aspects of this iconic structure.
